VMRDA to complete flyover within deadline
completed by the end of this year. Therefore, the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has pulled up its socks now, in order to complete the project within the deadline. The VMRDA has decided to track the progress of works on a weekly basis.
The proposal for the flyover was mooted around five years ago in a bid to decongest one of the busiest stretches in the city. The VMRDA selected the rotary model flyover after putting up its designs on its website for discussion.
The composite level grade separator will get a sunken rotary right under the ground-level with roads on all four sides feeding into it for light motor vehicles such as cars, two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws.An elevated rotary will be constructed above the ground-level connecting the ramps on all four sides of the roads (two ramps on each side of the road) at the junction for heavy vehicles such as buses and trucks. Rites Limited has been appointed as the project management consultant for the project. The construction of the upper rotary is currently in progress.
